Productivity Builders for Article Writers

Many see writing articles as a nuisance. I happen to disagree with this belief. I think that article writing can be one of the most fun and rewarding activities there is.

Some people simply don’t know what to write about and their mind draws a blank when they’re called to the task. I know the frustrations about this, but there are ways around it.

Based on my experience, I’d like to share some advice with you that I do believe will be of great help to you. Follow these simple rules and you may even enjoy writing.

People enjoy reading articles with lists, and writing them is one of the easier ways to write an easy read. This way, you’ll know the items that made your list (i.e. a top ten list) and you’ll have an easy time writing a paragraph or two about each.

If you don’t like the idea of writing lists, or simply prefer another means as well, tell stories. Everyone has their own experiences to draw from, and personalizing an article in this regard will allow you to connect with your readers.

If I have a number of articles to churn out in one sitting, I’ll usually try to set short term goals. I’ll race against the clock in the hopes of beating the time I’ve allocated to the task. This keeps me focused with an end in sight.

I like to treat myself to little rewards when I’m done writing for the day. If I know that I have to write five articles in one sitting, I’ll take myself out for ice cream when I’m done, or I’ll take a break from my work to watch my favorite TV show.

The final thing that I’m going to mention is a simple thing that goes a very long way. The faster you type, the more you’ll be able to get done. Play some games that focus on your typing speeds. Not only are they fun, but they definitely pay off over time.

This writer blogs about many other topics, including window indoor air conditioner covers and portable AC units.
