It’s Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics — He co-wrote the song. But he’s actually supposed to be representing the caterpillar from the original story, which is why he’s smoking a hookah pipe.

Never much of a Tom Petty fan, but I used to watch this video a lot in my younger days, and I really like the song-it’s kinda weird and trippy. The video is pretty damn creative, even by today’s standards.
i remember when this video came out-it was and still is an AMAZING video and song…I get choked up seeing the sitar and hookah…the sitar is good in this song, loved it in ‘paint it black’ too…thanx
