Danny Boy – Ambitious though arrogant, unrelentingly boring melodrama of sax player Rea, who trades his sax for a gun after observing a triple assassination. This was Jordan’s directorial introduction, which he as well did the screenplay. He and leading guy Rea later reteamed for The Weeping Game.

Only You – Pleasant confection in reference to a youthful female who invests her entire life looking for her perfect mate whose name was summoned up on a Ouija board. Cast includes Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey, Jr., Bonnie Seek, Joaquim De Almeida, Fisher Stevens, and Phyllis Newman.

The Geisha Boy – Jerry, an clumsy warlock, travels to Japan with disastrous repercussions. Creative graphic gags; there is a clever pattern characterizing the Los Angeles Dodgers and, specifically, Gil Hodges. Married To The Mob – Angela deMarco is married to gangster Frank deMarco. When Frank dies, Angela needs to break away from the mob and start anew. Instead she discovers herself being followed by the FBI.

Michael – A set of cynical reporters and a counterfeit “angel” find that a foolish old female’s statement that the archangel Michael is living with her is real. Michael, even so, turns out not to be your common angel. Pleasant, ironic motion picture by no means goes where you expect and takes its time getting there, however the trip is alluring, and Travolta, as the seedy, randy Michael, is impeccably cast. Cast includes John Travolta, Andie MacDowell, William Hurt, Robert Pastorelli, Bob Hoskins, Jean Stapleton, Teri Garr, Wally Ward, Joey Lauren Adams, Carla Gugino, Tom Hodges, and Wallace Langham.

Lunatics and Lovers – Aristocrat Mastroianni has a fictional spouse; an organ grinder persuades prostitute Mori to “impersonate” her. While it’s not brainless, it’s unexciting. Cast includes Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Mori, Lino Morelli, Flora Carabella, and Adriano Celentano.
