When you are coordinating a sporting even, there is one thing that you simply cannot live without, and that is the stopwatch. If you think about it, no sporting event could even think about going forward without one, and because of this it’s critical that you select the right one for the right event. What is that you say? There’s only one type of stopwatch? You couldn’t be more wrong! So let’s look at the different functions that you would need for different events.

The origin of stopwatches has been the center of many questions. Some claim the ancient Egyptians were behind this invention, which is possible considering that those were the same people that built the pyramids. However, you can’t just visit ancient Egypt and ask them to show you a stopwatch. We can go back to the first known stopwatch, which was developed in 1884 by Leon Breitling.
